Everybody Needs A Pierre!

The idea that everyone is called to ministry is a concept often associated with Christian beliefs, but it can be relevant to various religious and secular contexts as well. In some religious traditions, the concept of the "priesthood of all believers" suggests that all individuals are called to serve in various capacities within the community of faith. This understanding emphasizes that every person has unique gifts and talents that can be used to contribute to the well-being of others and the greater good.
In a secular context, the idea of being called to ministry can also be interpreted as a broader call to service and contribution to society. This can encompass roles in social justice, humanitarian work, education, healthcare, and many other areas where individuals work for the betterment of their communities and the world at large.
Ultimately, the concept of being called to ministry or service is about recognizing and embracing the responsibility to make a positive impact in the lives of others, whether through religious leadership, community service, philanthropy, or other forms of support and advocacy. While the specific expression of this calling may vary widely from person to person, the underlying principle is one of recognizing and responding to the needs of others and the world around us.
Tell story of how you got called into ministry at a very young age. Spend about 10 minutes
1 Peter 4:10–11 NLT
10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 11 Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.
1 Corinthians 12:18–31 NLT
18 But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where he wants it. 19 How strange a body would be if it had only one part! 20 Yes, there are many parts, but only one body. 21 The eye can never say to the hand, “I don’t need you.” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you.” 22 In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary. 23 And the parts we regard as less honorable are those we clothe with the greatest care. So we carefully protect those parts that should not be seen, 24 while the more honorable parts do not require this special care. So God has put the body together such that extra honor and care are given to those parts that have less dignity. 25 This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. 26 If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad. 27 All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it. 28 Here are some of the parts God has appointed for the church: first are apostles, second are prophets, third are teachers, then those who do miracles, those who have the gift of healing, those who can help others, those who have the gift of leadership, those who speak in unknown languages. 29 Are we all apostles? Are we all prophets? Are we all teachers? Do we all have the power to do miracles? 30 Do we all have the gift of healing? Do we all have the ability to speak in unknown languages? Do we all have the ability to interpret unknown languages? Of course not! 31 So you should earnestly desire the most helpful gifts. But now let me show you a way of life that is best of all.
We as the body of Christ ALL matter.
There is no Big I’s and little u’s in the body of Christ. The focus is only Him.
I love what Mark 10:45 says:
Mark 10:45 NLT
45 For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:42–44 NLT
42 So Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. 43 But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, 44 and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else.
Your ministry will look completely different then your neighbors ministry.
Doesn’t make it better… just makes it different.
So how do you determine what is your ministry? It’s Simple…. We are going to look at 3 important things.
1. The Need Of
You will see what others don’t see and feel the need to address those concerns.
Proverbs 31:8–9 NLT
8 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. 9 Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.
This would be Christian Legal Counsel, Counselors, Advocates, Politicians, Lobbyist. etc
Psalm 82:3 NLT
3 “Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.
Philanthropist, Business Owners, Judges, etc…..
Luke 3:11 NLT
11 John replied, “If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with those who are hungry.”
Wealthy Believers, People with the gift of Giving, Store Owners, Restauranteurs, etc…..
James 1:27 NLT
27 Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
All Believers with the power to vote for laws in the world. Medical Professionals, Law Makers, Politicians, etc….
2. God Always Takes You Back
You will find yourself going back to help those who can’t help themselves.
John 1:45–46 NLT
45 Philip went to look for Nathanael and told him, “We have found the very person Moses and the prophets wrote about! His name is Jesus, the son of Joseph from Nazareth.” 46 “Nazareth!” exclaimed Nathanael. “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” “Come and see for yourself,” Philip replied.
John 4:39–42 NLT
39 Many Samaritans from the village believed in Jesus because the woman had said, “He told me everything I ever did!” 40 When they came out to see him, they begged him to stay in their village. So he stayed for two days, 41 long enough for many more to hear his message and believe. 42 Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not just because of what you told us, but because we have heard him ourselves. Now we know that he is indeed the Savior of the world.”
Isaiah 43:18–19 NLT
18 “But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. 19 For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.
3. See the Problem, Solve the Problem
God will give you the resources and the abilities to help where others can’t.
Galatians 6:2 NLT
2 Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.
Proverbs 19:17 NLT
17 If you help the poor, you are lending to the Lord— and he will repay you!
